The Cornerstone Baptist Leadership

The Cornerstone Baptist is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.

Bro. Gary Creel

Pastor

Bro. Gary Creel is a graduate of Mortimer Jordan High School who after graduation joined the United States Marine Corps. Upon discharge from the Marine Corps, he attended Jefferson State Junior College and then The University of Alabama in Birmingham where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree and pursued a career in law enforcement.

Bro. Gary was ordained in the ministry in 1992 and has been serving God whole-heartedly ever since. He was employed as Chaplain for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and in retirement made a career being a hospice chaplain with Family Comfort Hospice, ministering to those at the end of life. He has pastored three different churches since becoming ordained.

Gary and his wife, Barbara, have been married for 52 years, where she has served by his side in his roles as pastor. God has blessed them with three children and four grandchildren.

When asked about his role as pastor, Gary states, “I am excited to be a part of The Cornerstone Baptist Church and am looking forward to seeing what God has in store for us.”

Randy & Angela Duke

Music Ministry

My name is Randy Duke. I have the privilege of serving as the music minister here at The Cornerstone Baptist Church. I graduated from Montevallo with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. I am also a music teacher in the public school system. My wife and I have two children and are so happy to be a part of this ministry!

My name is Angela Duke and I serve as the pianist at The Cornerstone Baptist Church. My husband and I work together in this ministry. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Birmingham Southern College and taught music in the public school system for almost 20 years. I am now a stay-at-home mom to our two children and teach private music classes.
